WHEN TO CHOOSE THIS STYLE

The right pick for the right room.

A fitted dressing room is the natural next step from a walk-in. The same room is given over fully to cabinetry, with an island, a dressing seat, a full mirror, integrated LED, and shoe racks engineered for actual shoes. It's most common in Ilkley, Burley-in-Wharfedale, and the larger Heaton and Frizinghall houses where the floorplan has a separate dressing room behind the master bedroom. The Heritage tier sits here — wardrobes, drawers, and an island, the whole room scribed to the architecture, every surface in walnut, smoked oak, or hand-painted shaker. Lead time is longer (four to six weeks of fabrication) and the install runs five to ten days on site. If you've got the room and the brief, it's the most rewarding wardrobe project we fit.

QUESTIONS WE GET

On this style, the things customers ask first.

What size of room do I need for a dressing room?

A minimum of around 3 by 2.5 metres for a layout with cabinetry on two walls plus an island. Below that you're better with a walk-in along three walls. Above 4 by 3 metres and the dressing room can include a dressing seat and full mirror.

How long does the build and install take?

Four to six weeks of workshop fabrication, then five to ten days on site for installation depending on the complexity. A full Heritage-tier dressing room with island and full mirror is closer to two weeks on site.

Can I have a mix of finishes?

Yes — mixing walnut wardrobes with a painted island, or smoked oak with brushed brass, is common. We bring samples to the design visit and lay out the combinations against the room's existing surfaces.

Do you fit dressing rooms in period properties?

Constantly. Ilkley, Burley-in-Wharfedale, Frizinghall, Saltaire. We scribe the cabinetry around picture rails, coving, original skirting, and sash windows. The finished room reads as part of the architecture rather than imposed on it.

WHERE WE FIT

Bradford, the wider district, and the towns across the moor.

We do most of our work within a fifteen-minute drive of the workshop — Shipley, Heaton, Frizinghall, Saltaire, Wibsey. We travel further for larger projects across West Yorkshire.
